Overview

 

This is the Public Minnesota Appellate Court Case Management System (P-MACS) online help system. Use this application to review guides and steps on how to file with the Minnesota Appellate Courts.

 

P-MACS is the public access version of the Minnesota Appellate Courts' Case Management System (MACS), offering information on the status of appeals filed with the Minnesota Supreme Court and the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Click here to access the P-MACS System Website.

 

P-MACS provides case information, including the title, file number, case participants, and details of all docket entries. The system is updated continuously during business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding state holidays. For questions about specific documents or document security, contact the Office of the Clerk of the Appellate Courts at (651-291-5297).

Publicly accessible information includes:

Location(s) available

Case information

Case title; case type; case status; the parties to the appeal, including attorneys representing the parties; district court or originating court/agency (ORCA) information; and the docket, which is a list of filings made in the case.

Outgoing appellate court documents

Opinions, orders, correspondence, and calendars for arguments and/or non-oral consideration filed after June 2011.

On P-MACS, via any Internet connection.

Most incoming appellate court documents

Motions, notices, and petitions.

Appellate briefs

Briefs and addenda filed on or after January 1, 2013 may be available electronically.

On Courthouse View, only at a computer terminal at any Minnesota state district (county) courthouse or the Minnesota State Law Library in St. Paul.

 

Note: The table above represents default settings. Access to a particular document may be restricted if the document contains non-public information.

 

Non-public information includes:

  1. Documents and/or information that are not public in the district court.

  1. Juvenile delinquency, adoption, and paternity cases.

  1. While every attempt has been made to ensure that the information provided through P-MACS is accurate, there are no warranties ensuring accuracy.
